The common signs that you have a termite problem are:

• Flying white ants/ termites known as Alates swarm in large numbers emerging from door /window frames or brick pavers and soil. After shedding their wings, paired males and females can then form a new nest.

• Damage or hollowing of timbers is very common where termites/white ants are eating away on both hard wood and soft wood flooring timbers, kitchen/ bathroom/ laundry cupboards architraves, door frames and most other timbers within a building or structure.

• Damage to stored items like boxes of papers or books stored in sub-floor or storage areas are often attacked by termites. Not only is timber a food source for termites but paper and any cellulose material is highly desirable to them as well.

• Mud tubes or dirt appearing in gaps around door jambs, skirting, flooring timbers, kitchen/ bathroom/ laundry cupboards architraves, door frames and most other timber is termite activity, however in some cases there is no visual signs of damage in the timbers which is very alarming.

How often should i get my house Inspected for termites?:

For most homes, an annual termite inspection is advisable. This yearly check provides a comprehensive review of your property, ensuring that no new infestations have taken root and that prior treatments remain effective.

What Cockroaches do i have and why?

American Cockroaches prefer moist areas, but can live in dry areas with access to water. They enter homes when foraging for food and water. They are often seen in gardens, around garbage, and in sheds or garages and are fast moving when disturbed they will fly around in warmer weather.
Australian Cockroaches live in warm, dark, wet places, because they need to be near water. They are often found in sewers and around pipes and drains. Australian Cockroaches crawl through dirty areas and then walk around our homes tracking in lots of bacteria and germs.
German Cockroaches are found in homes, shops, food processing plants and restaurants etc. They prefer warm, humid environments. They shelter in cracks and crevices and avoid light. In buildings, they are found close to food and water in kitchens as well as other food handling areas. They are readily moved to new habitats in food packages and boxes.
Oriental cockroaches love starchy foods and decaying organic matter. They are often seen in gardens, under leaf litter or mulch and in rubbish they prefer dark moist areas.
